Make your own Iron Plaque! Click here for exact specifications. All ages welcome. Carve a reverse relief design into pre-made sand mold to prepare it for the iron pour (any imagery or text is possible and tools & professional assistance will be made available). Take home your finished work on Sunday, July 10 at 10 a.m. unveiling of molds and finishing of pieces with surface preparation & patina additions. $25 per mold. Artist Karl Unnasch will lead the iron pour crew to make this iron pour possible. Karl directs Standard Issue Cast Metals, which is an art foundry retreat for artists. He exhibits his work nationally and has participated in several major arts residencies. His outreach program brings cast metal and glass sculpture into high schools where he collaborates with art students to make permanent installations for their communities. His experience with reclaimed materials is vast and continues to expand. His studio, Pilot Mound Design, can be found along Hwy 30, east of Chatfield, Minn.
